TV and movie fans worldwide are in mourning following the sudden demise of revered actress Helen McCrory.
Briefly News has learned the popular actress featured in big-time films such as Harry Potter and James Bond died unexpectedly at 52.
According to Mercury News, the British actress, who played Clair Dowar in the 2012 James Bond film Skyfall, died suddenly. News of her sudden death was confirmed by her husband Damian Lewis through social media.
In his statement, the hubby noted that the actress had a long battle with cancer but could not fight any more, leading to her demise at their home.
"I am heartbroken to announce that after a heroic battle with cancer, the beautiful and mighty woman that is Helen McCrory has died peacefully at home, surrounded by a wave of love from friends and family. She died as she lived. Fearlessly. God we love her and know how lucky we are to have had her in our lives. She blazed so brightly. Go now, Little One, into the air, and thank you," Damian said.
News of her demise broke the hearts of many people, specifically her fans, who thronged different social media platforms to mourn her.
Briefly News understands the actress had been married to actor Damian since 2007 and together have two children, their daughter Manon, 14, and their son Gulliver, 13.
Helen had originally played an important role in the Harry Potter films in which she was cast as Bellatrix Lestrange.
She, however, quit her role in the films after falling pregnant with her first baby.
Her role was given to Helena Bonham Carter instead following her maternity break. Helen made a comeback later and was cast as Bellatrix's sister Narcissa Malfoy for the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and Part 2 films.
Briefly News has learned the actress was last seen in public on March 12's episode of Good Morning Britain.
During the show, Helen and her hubby, Homeland star Damian, talked about the charity work they have been running. Her fans questioned her well-being following her appearance on the show, especially after the host Kate Garraway pointed out that her voice sounded croaky.
Helen had appeared in a number of hit productions such as The Woman In Black: Angel Of Death and The Count Of Monte Cristo and 2005's Casanova during her prime time.
Her feature in 2006's film The Queen, in which she portrayed Cherie Blair, made her a household name. In 2020, she made appearances in a number of TV shows such as Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? and political thriller Roadkill.
