Learners at Minerva High School in Alexandra, Johannesburg, staged a protest outside their school on 18 August 2026. They were calling for the removal of a male teacher amid allegations that he had sent inappropriate messages to learners.

Twitter user @EversonLuhanga shared video footage of the demonstration, showing a large crowd of uniformed students gathered on the street outside the school. According to reports, the Congress of South African Students (COSAS) said multiple learners had come forward and that several others may also have been affected by the alleged behaviour.
