US Embassy Invites SA Matric Learners Eyeing American Universities to Joburg Fair

South African students dreaming of studying in the United States have been given a direct opportunity to make that dream a reality. The US Embassy South Africa shared a video on Facebook on 10 September 2026 promoting the upcoming 2026 US College Fair, urging eligible students to register before spots close.
The fair is scheduled for 12 September 2026, running from 11:00 to 17:00 SAST at the American International School of Johannesburg. The event is free to attend, and registration closed on 11 September.
What the college fair offers
Twelve American universities will have representatives on the ground to speak directly with prospective students. Attendees can explore available study programmes, ask questions about admissions, and gather information to guide their next steps. The embassy framed the event as a starting point for students who are curious but unsure where to begin.

The promotional video featured five South African students already living the American university experience, with the embassy telling viewers: “You could be up next.”
