Viljoen previously courted the ire of South Africans after sharing her experience working with black co-stars on the reality shows she starred in. Now, Melanie Viljoen stirred strong reactions after her comments about alleged white genocide in South Africa.

In the video, Melanie said that Trump was right about the white genocide in South Africa and claimed that news outlets were deliberately not reporting on the issue.

“Trump is right about everything. I’m from South Africa, where there are race laws against white people and where white people are getting killed, and the news doesn’t wanna write about it. I am testament to tell you that Trump was right about everything, including South Africa, including the rest of the world,” she said.

Melanie Viljoen backs Donald Trump to win midterms

Melanie Viljoen , who relocated to the US in July 2025, also endorsed Trump’s proposal to sign an executive order mandating that voters be required to present identification before casting ballots ahead of next year’s midterm elections. She backed Trump to win the midterm elections.

“So, what I think about the ID is if you don’t have a proper ID and vote, of course, it's gonna be Democrat votes. But if you are a proper person, you’ll definitely see everyone’s gonna vote Trump in the next election, its gonna be Trump. So that’s my opinion about the proper vote ID. It’s right. Why would you want to vote if you don’t have an ID?” Melanie Viljoen added.
