South African radio presenter and podcaster Sol Phenduka is a fan of Amapiano singer Tebogo Mashego.

Mashego went viral on Friday, 19 September 2025, after he begged Mzansi for donations to return home as he was stranded in Nigeria. In his posts, Mashego wrote: "Life is difficult. I told them that I don't wanna come to Nigeria. Please help so I can come back home."

Mashego further stirred controversy when he accused the Scorpion Kings duo, DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, of owing him royalties for his hit song Biri Marung. He accused the Amapiano duo of pocketing millions in profit from events featuring the track without paying him.

"He’s better than Scott and Toss. Ten times better!"

@wordlessmemes joked:

"It's giving, but I could be the only one hearing it."

@NeleIsMyName asked:

"My ears might be closed because I do not hear that good you're talking about. Unless y'all are being sarcastic and I'm too slow to catch up?"

@Uncensored_Rz feared:

"It's a good song, but mind you that he literally destroyed his own music career by being unprofessional and reckless. After that Nigeria drama, the entire Amapiano industry is going to blackball him."
