Teenage vocalist Naledi Aphiwe is not here for the internet's noise. After an X user came for her and her friend Lisende, the young star shut it down with one sharp response that got Mzansi talking.

The drama kicked off when user @SuzanSithole2 took aim at both Aphiwe and Lisende, suggesting the pair would continue missing out on awards as a form of divine justice. She wrote:

"Lapho she and her besty Lisende will still be losing awards, bandla. God don't like ugly! He's showing them who's the real bullies! That time our girl is loving her best life and has 1M waiting for her to be gifted. 💃💃”

Naledi Aphiwe's impressive run

The Johannesburg-born singer first caught the world's attention while still in high school, after American superstar Chris Brown sampled her vocals on his track Shooter. Since then, she has accumulated multiple accolades, including the Afro Pop Artist of the Year title at the Basadi in Music Awards, secured a deal with Virgin Music Group, and built a profile that few South African artists twice her age can match.

Despite those achievements, Naledi Aphiwe continues to face targeted criticism and fan-war toxicity online, a reality that many rising female artists in the local music scene know all too well. Her clapback highlighted not just her awards tally but also her refusal to absorb that kind of commentary quietly.

The response was not universally celebratory. Many in Aphiwe's replies felt the awards were not the real issue at hand.

"7 Awards and still no award for good character. Achievements don't excuse disrespect, and being under 20 isn't an excuse for having an ugly attitude. Fix your character before flexing your trophies. I used to defend you, but now I see that you're the problem, Naledi."

QueenSino17 added:

"Darling, you have, but you see after what you did to Thandeka? It won't happen again!! Best believe me, Naledi. 🙇‍♀️"

Thandeka1111 quipped:

"You will explain every year moes cause you will not be getting any awards. 😂😂😂"

HlanyoNT was less diplomatic:

"Le Ntashi oyidlayo, hopefully your career will survive until u 30. Noma zoba use rehab. Coz u get high and type nonsense on social media udelele ppl dat dnt know u unprovoked. Weyisa kabi wena lunch bar skin."

Leen947 simply said:

"That was before ugezele uMathaaa Sdengeee!!"

KevinMatuv17113 questioned the account itself:

"Is this even her real account? 😂"
