Cassper Nyovest threw his pride out the window and gave Grammy winner Tyla her flowers on the L-Tido Podcast, and Mzansi absolutely loved every second of it.
Filmed in a modern studio with green walls, decorative shelving, and a bar area in the background, the two sat across from each other with microphones on boom stands for what turned into one of the most talked-about podcast moments of the year. The atmosphere was candid and relaxed, but it was Cassper's unfiltered admiration for Tyla that sent the clip viral.
Cassper calls Tyla ‘our father’
Midway through the conversation, Cassper paused to correct himself after casually name-dropping Tyla, lowering his voice as if humbling himself in her presence. What followed was a full, heartfelt declaration of admiration that had podcast host L-Tido and the internet in fits. He said:

"Guys, Tyla is not our mother; she's our father. As African entertainers, her name should be Uncle Waffles. Tyla is our uncle, our father. She's doing everything that we wish we could do. She's out there at the Met Gala. That's twice now. Clapping them twice in the room."
He went further, openly admitting that Tyla is his idol and that many other African artists feel exactly the same way but are too proud to say so publicly. He added:
"Boys, Tyla is what every African artist wishes to be. She's definitely my idol. Like, I look up to Tyla. And I know a lot of you would never say it, but in your bedrooms, you're saying it.”
Cassper also confessed that if he ever crossed paths with Tyla in person, he would completely lose his composure. He was quick to clarify, though, that his admiration is strictly that of a fan, noting that Tyla has replied to his DMs and is ‘mad humble.’ He concluded:
"As a fan, I wouldn't like to pretend that Tyla and I flirt. I'm a fan. I'm there. Congrats girl. I show my wife. I'm a Tyla fan for real.”
