A Nigerian woman has gone viral after posting a direct, emotional appeal to Chidimma Adetshina, urging the beauty queen to drop her deportation court battle and return home to Nigeria.
The selfie-style video, filmed indoors and reshared on X by @MDNnewss on 21 August 2026, shows the unnamed woman speaking with visible passion straight to camera. She questioned why Adetshina refuses to embrace her Nigerian identity, arguing that no country is without its flaws. "Nigeria might be bad today, but Nigeria can be fixed tomorrow," she said, adding that Nigerians had already welcomed Chidimma when she competed in beauty pageants on home soil. "Come back, we will receive you, we love you."
Chidimma's court battle heats up
The video surfaced just days after a tense scene unfolded outside Cape Town Regional Court on 19 August 2026, where Adetshina appeared for her deportation hearing. After addressing the media and calling for ubuntu and fair treatment, the vehicle she was travelling in was set upon by an angry crowd. Chidimma has consistently maintained that she was born in South Africa and that she has been unfairly targeted throughout the process.

The Nigerian woman in the viral clip appeared unconvinced, telling Chidimma she did not need to subject herself to the ordeal. "Please, my sister, come back home. You don't really need to be going through that," she said, before signing off with a declaration that Nigeria's best days were ahead.
Mzansi and Nigerians split over Chidimma
The video has drawn strong reactions from both South Africans and Nigerians, with opinions running in every direction.
@NxamoK wrote: "Engangeni ngesango iyafohla, they need her back home."
@zane7455 questioned how Adetshina sustains her lifestyle: "How does Chidimma afford things in general (cars, living in the Cape Town suburbs, etc), let alone the court case. I haven't seen her modelling any big brands. This girl's life doesn't make sense."
@Bhelekazi_13 aimed at Nigerians broadly: "They're shameless; that's why they're always fighting other countries instead of Nigeria. Shamelessness is engraved in their hearts; nothing can help that."
@daytona322 offered a sharper take: "I don't think Chidimma likes Nigeria. I'd say she's xenophobic."
@MissVoo1 suggested Adetshina was limiting herself: "She is undoubtedly losing out on a lot of opportunities by being in South Africa. There is nothing that SA will offer her that she cannot find in Nigeria or elsewhere."
