Emtee's legal troubles are far from over, but there may be light at the end of the tunnel for the South African rapper as his court case takes a significant turn.
The Manando hitmaker appeared briefly at the Midrand magistrate's court on Tuesday, where proceedings were postponed to 2 October for the outcome of representations.
His father expressed relief at the development, with a source close to the family telling TimesLIVE: "His father is happy that the case was postponed. He said that's exactly what he hoped for because he will now get time to focus on his work."
How Emtee Ended Up in Court
The rapper has been out on R2,000 bail since 2 September, following 16 days spent behind bars at the Johannesburg Correctional Centre. His arrest stemmed from violating a 2023 protection order obtained by his estranged wife, Nicole Chinsamy.

His release came based on new facts after Chinsamy submitted a formal withdrawal statement to the court. Speaking from the witness stand, she addressed her decision directly: "I decided to withdraw the case. I'd like to close this chapter and move on with my life."
