A passionate Emtee fan has launched a petition pushing for the South African rapper to perform at FNB Stadium in 2027, and it's already dividing Mzansi.

X user @itsmytimecurtis shared the campaign on Friday, 11 September 2026, calling on fans to sign and spread the word. The petition, started on the popular platform Change.org, frames a potential stadium show as more than a concert — describing it as a celebration of South African musical heritage. The fan behind it credits Emtee's music, going back to his breakout hit Roll Up, as a source of personal inspiration, and believes the rapper's journey deserves to be marked with one of the country's biggest stages.

The petition also acknowledges the practical side of pulling off such a large-scale event, flagging the need for venues, sponsors, security, and funding — signalling that the push is meant to be taken seriously. The push comes as DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small are putting the final touches on the Scorpion Kings Live event at FNB Stadium. At the time of writing, the Change.org petition had 10,526 verified signatures.

Mzansi reacts to the Emtee FNB Stadium dream

Not everyone was convinced the dream was grounded in reality. The post quickly drew a range of responses, from supportive to deeply sceptical.

@PulseOnlineInfo wrote:

"He can't start with FNB 😂; he must start with a smaller show, even Sun Arena, and grow from there. This is a big jump, and you as his fans will mislead him."

The original poster, @itsmytimecurtis, was unfazed, simply replying:

"Just watch."

@BlackAfricanGal said:

"I'm happy he's back, but this one will end up not showing he likes dagga too much."

@Emkay28feb kept it short:

"He must put the cup down."

@bouga_92 responded with:

"Are you mad?"

@MozeArts23 offered the most enthusiastic support, posting:

"🔥🙏🏿"
