DJ Maphorisa has raised eyebrows after revealing on Podcast and Chill that he would have been willing to fork out R500,000 for Samthing Soweto to perform at the Scorpion Kings' live show at FNB Stadium on 19 September 2026. The episode premiered on Thursday, 17 September 2026, and the clip has since gone viral on X.

In the podcast-style interview, filmed indoors against a bright yellow backdrop, Maphorisa calmly confirmed the figure when pressed, saying:

"I'm going to lose 500,000. I'll buy for... For this ticket?"

The on-screen caption reinforced the moment, reading:
