They say all good things must come to an end. However, according to Married At First Sight's Tshepo Miya and Palesa Mphaki, it's been downhill since the very beginning.
In the latest episode aired on Sunday, 14 September 2025, the couple confirmed they were ending their marriage.
Despite their attempt to iron out their differences and find a way forward after weeks of disagreements, it seems Tshepo and Palesa saw it best to go their separate ways.
Palesa said she tried to make their marriage work without any effort from her seemingly polygamous husband's end:

"Nobody can say I didn't try, and with how things have transpired, with no participation from his side."
She claims that whenever they had get-togethers, whether it's meeting her family or Palesa meeting his friends, Tshepo would come up with excuses:
"It's clear that it's not a me problem."
Meanwhile, Tshepo, who had since moved out of their marital home, said he regretted being on the show:
"Thinking about everything from day one, I completely regret it. I don't know how we got here. I had no business being with this person. I feel robbed of an experience, a truly amazing experience."

The couple's volatile relationship has seen its fair share of ups and downs, which have been documented for the whole of South Africa to watch.
Social media users took to Twitter (X) and weighed in on Tshepo and Palesa's failed marriage.
Briefly News asked Media and Communication Lecturer Adelina Mbinjama how entertainers manage the pressures of personal life while meeting public expectations around marriage and relationships. She explained:
"It might not be easy for those in the entertainment business to strike a complete balance between the personal life and public life, but it should be noted that they are entitled to frame how they want to be perceived.
Striking balances is up to the individual and the boundaries they have set up for themselves and their families who are often also subjected to scrutiny due to being affliated with someone who is a public figure."

"Tshepo said 'I do,' then immediately said 'I might do others too.' That man brought up polygamy before the honeymoon snacks were served! And still had the nerve to cry 'Robbed of an experience.' Sir, you robbed yourself."
Kay_Rantai slammed Tshepo:
"Tshepo is what we call a Narcissist!!! How is he claiming he was robbed of an experience when he was the one who not only introduced the polygamy conversation minutes after saying 'I do'? He also refused to meet Palesa's family or let her meet his."
MissAane added:
"Tshepo will forever be single! Now we see why all the women he has ever been with leave him."
