A Cameroonian content creator has left African social media users in stitches after sharing his hilarious ranking of countries with the best national parks, complete with cheeky nicknames and a shocking confession about deliberately changing the results.

Facebook user @Grand Dilan, who regularly discusses African countries and their achievements, posted the entertaining video on 11 August 2025 with the caption:

"African countries with the best National parks."

The video quickly went viral, attracting over 2,700 reactions and 359 comments as viewers enjoyed his creative approach to ranking the continent's wildlife destinations. Using a mix of praise and playful insults, he counted down from number 10 to number 1, giving each country a memorable nickname along the way.

Starting with Madagascar at number 10 and Rwanda at number 9, the content creator worked his way through the list with entries like "Mr Ugly Competition of Zimbabwe" at number 8 and "Introverts of Africa, Namibia" at number 7. He continued with "noise Makers of Africa, Zambia" at number 6 and "Republic of Uganda" at number 5.

His descriptions became even more creative as he reached the top spots, calling Botswana "GossipMe.com womens country" at number 4 and Kenya "big forehead women, Republic/shoe shooters of Africa" at number 3. South Africa earned the title "piano republic" at number 2, with Tanzania taking the top spot as "love song republic."

The biggest surprise came at the end when the Cameroonian creator confessed to deliberately switching the rankings. He admitted that South Africa was supposed to be number one, but he intentionally moved them to second place because he was tired of seeing them dominate every successful list about Africa.

SA reacts to national parks confession

@skhonzizuma saw through the deception:

"I knew South Africa, had been robbed on this one. Even before your confession 😂😂😂"

@marabaCK defended Kenya's position:

"No way... Kenya is top or we declare that list of yours null and void... Tanzania is a small, remote village in Kenya that has game parks..."

@nthabisengtsotetsi teased him about his feelings:

"You're almost on the other side😵‍💫 Admit you love us or you'll run mad😂😂😂"

@nosinkewaana appreciated his honesty:

"At least you confessed your switch-up 😂😂😂 We don't mind #2. It's mostly SADC countries in these kinds of good lists."

@mizzkalordk praised Tanzania:

"Tanzania yes, that's true... That place is like paradise. We don't mind being number 2🤣🤣🤣"

South Africa's impressive national parks

According to experts on Siyabona Africa, South Africa's national park system began in the 1890s when President Paul Kruger became concerned about dwindling buffalo herds and declared his intention to create game reserves. Today, the country boasts 20 major parks covering nearly two million hectares, representing various ecosystems and cultural landmarks.

Kruger National Park remains the largest and most successful, with 3,000km of roads, 24 rest camps, and hosting nearly one million visitors annually. The park generates conservation funds while protecting 520 bird species, 114 reptile species, and 146 mammal species.

Other notable parks include the expanding Addo Elephant National Park, the scenic Golden Gate Highlands, and the marine paradise of Tsitsikamma, each offering unique landscapes from desert to coastal fynbos.
