South African Resident Documents Startling Storm Damage to Home After Cape Town's Wild Weather

A Cape Town woman has left South Africans stunned after sharing a TikTok video documenting the moment she woke up to find the roof of her home completely blown away. This comes after a powerful Level 8 storm battered the Western Cape on 11 May 2026.

In a TikTok video by @kayla_spam092, a young lady announced that she woke up to the roof missing from her house. The Cape Town resident showed her roofless living room with her furniture getting drenched by the rain. She revealed that they were able to find their missing roof after taking a walk. The woman later spotted pieces of her roof in the streets, where she also discovered her damaged home camera scattered after the storm. Watch the video of the damage below:
