American TikTok food creator Uncle Kent brought the spirit of a South African braai to his backyard in the United States on 17 August 2026. The video, posted on his channel @dine.with.kent, opens with the caption "South African Braai Kent's House" and follows the entire event from kitchen prep to dessert.

The spread was anything but improvised. Meats included lamb chops and ribeye steaks, all seasoned with Six Gun Grill spice and cooked over an open wood fire. His partner Robin prepared a homemade sheba, a traditional tomato and onion relish, alongside braaibroodjies and pap. Biltong and droëwors were on hand before the main meal. The drinks matched the occasion too, with guests sipping Klipdrift brandy and Coke, and Carling Black Label beer.
