Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo Allegedly Underwent 5 Procedures Before Death, Thai Clinic Under Investigation

Thailand's Ministry of Public Health has ordered a formal investigation into a Bangkok cosmetic clinic after Nigerian-British content creator Igho "Tiny" Ubiribo died following a male enlargement procedure there.

Ubiribo, a Nigerian influencer based in London, passed away on 6 March 2026, less than 24 hours after receiving hyaluronic acid filler injections at the clinic. Records from Westminster Coroner's Court show that during an inquest hearing held on 21 August, a post-mortem examination and toxicology report determined that his cause of death was a combination of the hyaluronic acid injection and a pulmonary embolism.

Briefly News previously reported that Ubiribo allegedly began experiencing chest pains and collapsed on the evening of 5 March, several hours after the cosmetic procedure was carried out. He was rushed to a local hospital for a CT scan, but lost consciousness before doctors could perform it. Medical staff administered CPR for 101 minutes before he was pronounced dead at 1:05 a.m. on 6 March.

Thailand opens investigation into Bangkok clinic

According to People, on 7 September, Health Minister Pattana Phromphat directed the Department of Health Service Support (DHSS) and the Food and Drug Administration to investigate the clinic. Phromphat told local media that preliminary findings revealed an emergency medical centre had been contacted by a private Bangkok hospital requesting an ambulance for an unconscious patient.

DHSS Director-General Phuwadet Surakot confirmed that inspectors visited the clinic to assess whether it had complied with medical standards. The clinic's management told authorities that Ubiribo had been a patient since 2024 and had previously received five enlargement injections at the facility.

Clinic management also claimed that before his 5 March visit, a doctor advised Ubiribo to split the procedure into two sessions. He reportedly declined and requested the full injection in a single session. The clinic also stated that Ubiribo had signed a consent form before each visit, received aftercare instructions after every procedure, and had never raised concerns about any previous treatment.

"We will gather all facts and evidence to proceed according to our authority and submit the case to the Medical Council for a ruling on professional practice standards, in order to ensure fairness to all parties," the Ministry of Public Health said in a statement.
