A TikTok video posted by @sikhunyanamimiselo captured the mood on campus after CPUT issued a notice ordering all residence students to vacate within 24 hours. The deadline was set for 4 pm that day. Rather than leave quietly, a group of students were filmed dancing and playing games right as the clock ran out. The clip spread rapidly, drawing strong reactions from parents, students and everyday South Africans who could not agree on whether the response was brave, irresponsible or simply human.
