Rachel John has said her goodbyes to South Africa. The 25-year-old influencer, widely rumoured to be dating Springbok captain Siya Kolisi, took to her Instagram Stories on Saturday, 5 September 2026, to share that she had left the country.

John, who is of Nigerian and Dutch descent, splits her time between South Africa and Amsterdam, where she is based. Her Stories confirmed she was on her way back to the Netherlands, and she also teased that a trip to Iceland was on the horizon.

Rachel John’s ties to South Africa

While Amsterdam is home, John has built meaningful roots in South Africa. She is the founder and director of JBay Surf House in Jeffreys Bay, an organisation that creates a safe space for children from local townships by teaching them how to surf.

According to a report by The South African, John and Siya Kolisi have kept their romance largely private since rumours first emerged late last year. Even so, the pair gave fans plenty to talk about, from courtside appearances at the NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles to a widely shared moment at the Empire State Building in New York, and a getaway to Victoria Falls. Whether they are still together remains unclear.
