A South African woman gave her American husband a Zulu translation quiz, and the results had Mzansi crying with laughter.
TikToker @lifewith_gandm posted the clip on 7 August 2026 with the caption: “The day that we have all been waiting for has finally come! Malibongwe it’s your time.”
In the video, she puts her husband to the test, asking him to translate phrases from English into Zulu. What followed was a masterclass in creative guessing. His answers bore little resemblance to the actual language, but his confidence made it all the more entertaining for the thousands of South Africans who watched.

Zulu is one of South Africa’s 11 official languages and is spoken by millions, particularly in KwaZulu-Natal. For someone raised in the United States, picking up the language’s tones and clicks is no small task.
