Broadcaster Sizwe Dhlomo has reacted to disturbing images showing the remains of Zimbabwean millionaire Wicknell Chivayo and others being collected in plastic bags following a fatal helicopter crash.
Chivayo, who would have turned 46 in November, died on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, when the helicopter he was travelling in crashed in rural Marondera at approximately 5 PM. Family spokesman Herbert Chivayo confirmed the deaths, saying the businessman had been flying to Harare when the aircraft went down. His wife Lucy, her aide Senelisiwe Magagula, and two pilots, Captain Kelvin T. Soda and Captain Courage Mutavirwa, also perished in the crash. Zimbabwean police confirmed the incident but did not immediately name those on board.

On Thursday, 1 October 2026, Dhlomo shared his reaction on X in response to a post by ZimLive, which reported that the burials of the five victims could be delayed due to ongoing forensic work to match human tissue recovered from the scene.

Meanwhile, Briefly News reported that the wording of Wicknell Chivayo's final lengthy post paying tribute to his lawyers hours before he died in a helicopter crash in rural Marondera sparked suspicion.
In the post, Chivayo gifted lawyer Wilson Manase a 2026 Lexus GX 550 worth $220,000 and $250,000 in cash, and Advocate Sylvester Hashiti a Range Rover Sport and $500,000.
