WESTERN CAPE - A video of leader Fadiel Adams flatly refusing to apologise to Brigadier Dineo Mokwele has resurfaced and gone viral, drawing sharp criticism from South Africans who have accused him of racism.
The clip, shared on X by @Sunflowerreal on 23 August 2026, shows Adams speaking directly into the camera in what appears to be a public outdoor area. In the video, Adams addressed demands circulating on social media that he apologise to Brigadier Mokwele.

Mokwele, the Head of Technical Support Services within the South African Police Service’s (SAPS) Crime Intelligence, was arrested in June 2025 on charges stemming from alleged irregularities surrounding her promotion in 2024. The matter was taken on by the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) after Adams opened a case.

During the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, former IDAC head Advocate Andrea Johnson admitted that the decision to arrest and prosecute Mokwele was based on factually incorrect information. She further admitted she never personally reviewed Mokwele's CV, job application, or qualifications before authorising the corruption case, relying instead on a team briefing.
Adams refuses to apologise
In the video, Adams insisted that he had not fabricated evidence against Mokwele but had reported information that prompted investigators to act.
“I didn't fabricate evidence, I reported it. If Mokwele has done nothing wrong, then she should not be found guilty of anything. And whoever it is at Crime Intelligence or wherever should apologise to her. Including the NPA. They're the ones that found that there was prima facie evidence, not me,” he said.
Adams then turned his attention to those demanding an apology, telling them to "f off" and framing the controversy as part of what he described as a broader racial agenda. He alleged that coloured communities across the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Northern Cape have been systematically disadvantaged by BEE policies, and accused a "large section of the black community" of pushing an agenda against coloured people.
"The rest of you are racist as the white people you despise so much," he stated in the video.
South Africans weigh in on Adams’ video
Reactions online were overwhelmingly negative, with some accusing the Member of Parliament of being racist.

“Fadiel Adams is an embarrassment, even to the so-called coloured community who voted for his party. He should be given another long ride in a police van before being incarcerated. Just to bring him back to his sober senses.”
@Tumsa_Eksel claimed:
“Fadiel Adams wants to divide blacks and coloureds.”
@BizGuru4 appealed to Parliament:
“Please issue a disciplinary notice for the personal conduct of the MP Fadiel Adams, who is currently suspended. He is busy swearing at the public and making videos like a 15-year-old. The personal conduct of an MP is to carry themselves in a manner that best represents the dignity of Parliament and not to offend or carry themselves unacceptably publicly as per Parliament’s Code of Conduct. We wait.
@BabablacksheepK stated:
Fadiel Adams and his followers are just racists. They are disgruntled people blaming their misfortunes on black people.”
@thabanisandile3 said:
“Without a doubt, this chap is a racist.”
Advocate Johnson apologises to Brigadier Mokwele
Briefly News also reported that the former head of IDAC, Advocate Andrea Johnson, was forced into a public apology at the Madlanga Commission.
Johnson had to apologise after it emerged that statements she had made about the senior Crime Intelligence officer were factually incorrect.
Johnson apologised to Brigadier Mokwele after admitting she had claimed the officer was unqualified for her position without actually verifying her credentials
