SOUTH AFRICA — A largely unsettled Monday lies ahead for much of South Africa, with the South African Weather Service (SAWS) forecasting isolated showers and thundershowers across seven of the country's nine provinces.
Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, North West and the Free State are all expected to experience isolated showers and thundershowers during the day.
The Eastern Cape will see similar conditions over the interior, with the wet weather spreading eastwards as the day progresses. In KwaZulu-Natal, isolated rain and showers are likely in the northeast, while the western parts of the province can expect afternoon showers and thundershowers.

How are conditions in the Western Cape and Northern Cape?
Conditions along the coast look different. The Western Cape will begin the day with fog and mist along the south-western and southern coastlines before clearing to fine and partly cloudy skies, with warm to hot temperatures forecast for most areas. The far south-west of the province is expected to remain cooler throughout the day.
In the Northern Cape, residents can look forward to fine and cool to warm conditions, with some areas turning hot during the afternoon. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies are expected to develop as the day wears on.
SAWS has reminded South Africans that forecasts and severe weather warnings are subject to change as weather systems evolve. Residents across all affected provinces are encouraged to check for updated warnings throughout Monday and to take appropriate precautions where thundershowers are forecast.
