The Brazilians have yet to lose a game this season, technically. However, they were eliminated from the MTN8 competition on penalties by Orlando Pirates, and their recent match ended in a draw against the Glamour Boys.
Miguel Cardoso's side has been struggling since their off-field issue with Ribeiro, who won the PSL Player of the Season last campaign and also Goal of the Tournament at the FIFA Club World Cup.
The South American star dragged the Brazilians to FIFA over a contract dispute, and his lawyers blamed the Betway Premiership champions for blocking the player's transfer this summer.

Sundowns sign Ntsabeleng on loan
Sundowns are moving past Ribeiro this summer as they signed former Kaizer Chiefs forward, Tsiki Ntsabeleng, on loan from Major League Soccer side, FC Dallas.
The South African winger was scouted by the University of Coastal Carolina while representing UJ and was offered a scholarship. He went on to spend two years playing college football in the United States.

The Chiefs academy graduate joined FC Dallas in 2022, making over 90 appearances for the American side in all competitions, scoring twice and registering seven assists. He signed a new contract with the MLS side earlier this year.
FC Dallas released an official statement on their Twitter page confirming Ntsabeleng's loan move to Sundowns this summer.
"Good luck, Tsiki! We have loaned midfielder Tsiki Ntsabeleng to Mamelodi Sundowns FC of the South African Premiership," the club statement reads.
Ntsabeleng's move to Sundowns gathered loads of reactions from fans on social media.

"They want to be chiefs so bad😭 Now they’re going after our former players, how far on the Ndamane deal?"

"A whole Mamelodi Sundowns is being loaned players😭😭😭. This downfall needs to be studied at University of Venda!!"
john_sukazi added:
"Why is Mamelodi Sundowns FC taking players on loan instead of promoting those who are already in their development structures. With all the money they have, Mamelodi Sundowns FC is not contributing meaningfully to the development of our football."
