Kaizer Chiefs coach Fernando da Cruz has spoken publicly about the availability of new loan signing Faiz Abrahams, cautioning supporters not to expect the 21-year-old winger to feature in the near future.
Abrahams completed a season-long loan move from Stellenbosch FC last week, with the deal including an option to make the transfer permanent. Despite the early excitement surrounding his arrival at Naturena, the attacker was absent from the matchday squad when Chiefs took on Golden Arrows in the MTN8 quarter-final on Sunday.
Why Abrahams Is Not Yet Available
Da Cruz explained that the winger's delayed readiness stems from a lack of pre-season preparation.
"He comes without anything, so we are making a plan for him now, and we will prepare him step by step. So, you need to be patient," the French coach told the media.

The attacker arrived at the club without having undergone any structured pre-season training, meaning Chiefs' technical staff must now build his fitness and match sharpness from scratch before he can be considered for selection.
Abrahams' Impressive Pedigree
Despite the current setback, Abrahams arrives with considerable credentials. He excelled in the DStv Diski Challenge last season, scoring 11 goals and earning the reserve team's Footballer of the Season award. He also gained international club experience on loan with Israeli side Hapoel Kfar Saba, and was a key figure in the South Africa U20 national team, Amajita, that won the U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
Abrahams is the fifth player to join Chiefs during the current transfer window. He follows former Stellenbosch teammates Thabo Moloisane and Langelihle Phili, ex-Sekhukhune United goalkeeper Renaldo Leaner, and Tanzanian midfielder Adolf Mtasingwa, who signed from Azam FC.
With a well-stocked attacking unit already at his disposal, Da Cruz appears content to allow Abrahams time to reach full fitness before introducing him to competitive action.
