The sharpest comment came from a user who said the dressing room resembled aged aluminium kitchen units:

"Dressing room okare kitchen units tsela tsa kgale tsa aluminium."

The original poster responded with "Tsa maspala 😂", doubling down on the municipal comparisons.

Another reply went even further, writing:

"Everything is ZCC Lekhanyana vibes, even the locker rooms, yerrrrrrrrr. 🙄"

One fan brought the club's finances into the conversation, arguing the look of the space did not match Sundowns' commercial clout:

"Especially for a team that brings in soo much money, you would think of a world-class facility 😩🤷🏾‍♂️."

Sundowns' official website describes their Chloorkop base in Midrand as housing "world-class facilities", including training pitches, player lounges, gyms, rehabilitation centres and media rooms. A 2019 Soccer Laduma report also highlighted a recovery pool, jacuzzi and medical and physiotherapy rooms at the complex.

MTN8 Final banter and a Chappies dig

The thread quickly drifted into broader football territory. One supporter raised the future of defender Mvala, writing:

"Mvala is still at Downs?! Nah, Downs is holding the rest of the league hostage. An international defender not getting regular minutes because the other teams cannot match his current package (assumption)."

A Kaizer Chiefs fan used the moment to fire a shot ahead of the MTN8 final, telling Sundowns supporters:

"Dress to kill and make sure your shoes are clean on the 10th because you guys are our ice boys in the final 🥺."

Khuliso Mudau also got drawn into the banter. The Sundowns defender was announced as a Chappies brand ambassador in September 2026 after his gum-chewing habit during matches became something of a trademark. One social media user joked that Mudau was "not catching a break after signing a Chappies deal", adding another layer to the thread.

Sundowns currently sit top of the Betway Premiership with 20 points from eight matches, and the dressing-room debate arrives just days before the club's MTN8 showdown with Orlando Pirates at Moses Mabhida Stadium on 10 October.
