Kwanele Mfundisi has made more damning allegations against trouble Bishop Israel Makamu. The organisation took to social media and shared that more girls have accused the TV presenter of sexually abusing them.
Kwanele Mfundisi is a platform for victims of pastors and churches. The founder of the organisation Sihle Sibisi took to Facebook after Makamu made an appearance on Moja Love's AmaBishop.
Sihle shared that they had contacted the channel and requested to be part of the panel that interviewed Makamu but were allegedly denied the opportunity.
She said the organisation allegedly has multiple cases, old and new, that have emerged against Makamu. According to ZAlebs, Kwanele Mfundisi also alleged that the latest AmaBishop episode was just a publicity stunt to get Bishop Makamu to clear his name so he can be reinstated to Rea Tsotella.
Unimpressed social media users took to Kwanele Mfundisi's comment section to share their thoughts on their post. Check out some of their comments below:
Zuko Somtunzi said:
"Very disappointing episode indeed, the panel was just too quiet and not facing issues as they usually do."
Violet Vi Phiri wrote:
"Last night's (Sunday) episode was deeply heart breaking. Nimrod and the other pastor Makhado tried to ask the right questions... But Maponga and Phiri tjoo, it was such a horror to watch them excuse 'nonsense' and why no woman representation was not there!?!?"
Kamogelo Makinta commented:
"It seems as if most of them on that show was on his side and he doesn't even feel sorry for what he did."
Queen Fortunate Masuku added:
"I’m really drained sis, are we safe in churches nowadays?"
In related news, Briefly News reported that Bishop Israel Makamu trended on social media following Sunday night's episode of #AmaBishop. The popular pastor was a guest on the show to talk about his recent sex scandal.
Makamu was in the spotlight recently when a recording of him allegedly asking a then 17 year old girl for sex went viral. Makamu defended himself on the show.
He claimed that he called the girl at the time to ask for his church keys. The TV presenter claimed the reason he asked the girl if she was alone was because it would not look good for a church elder to walk into a school girls room alone.
The viewers of the show took to Twitter using the hashtag #makamu to share their thoughts on his appearance on the programme. Many of them slammed Makamu and shared that they don't buy his story.
