“The school got together and raised the rest of the money, and it’s yours,” Jodi Combs, Sunshine's Committee Head said while handing him the keys.

Reports indicate that the custodian at Georgia's Unity Grove Elementary School had fallen into hard times but struggled to move from home to work.

To make things easier even on a tight budget, Jackson had been saving up for a car and had so far managed $1,500 (KSh 165,000).

After his colleagues learnt that he was working towards the goal but was yet to achieve it, they came in and picked up from where he was with the savings.

Frozen in shock

Jackson, with his hands still in the air, called on God's name as he revealed that he was frozen in shock.

"Oh, thank you! Just to let you know that what they say about people is not real. It is not real,” he said in gratitude.

He added that he has only seen such things happen on Instagram and Facebook but never dreamt that he would experience it firsthand.

Further details point to the fact that the school has also previously helped Jackson secure housing and make utility payments.

"Thank you. You've lifted a burden off my shoulders," Chris said in appreciation.

According to Combs, the school has been hit by several tragic events in the recent past and the experiences have made them better.

"You can't have a community without unity. If everyone shows love to each other the world would be a better place," she advised.
