The 22-year-old, who came through the Kaizer Chiefs academy, featured for the full 90 minutes as the Azerbaijani club made their historic first appearance in the competition. The result was heavy, but neither Morris nor Khumalo were ready to write off the young South African based on the scoreline alone.

**Morris Highlights McCarthy's Positional Discipline**

Speaking on SuperSport TV, Morris pointed out that most of the United goals came from the side of the pitch opposite to where McCarthy was stationed. "If you look at Aden's performance, I think he started the game well. He was aggressive and made good tackles. Also, if we look at most of the goals that came in, they came from the opposite side of where Aden was playing," Morris said.

He added that even the third goal traced back to a teammate's error rather than McCarthy's. "Even the third goal, it was his teammate who actually put Benjamin Šeško in that situation to score. But if you look at Aden's overall performance, I think he had a decent game, even though the result says something different."

Morris acknowledged the road ahead, noting that future fixtures against tougher opposition would be a true test of McCarthy's character and quality.

Khumalo agreed with Morris, framing the Old Trafford experience as a valuable starting point for a career in European football. "He did not let himself down," Khumalo said.
