It has emerged that Somizi Mhlongo has begun a collaboration with veteran muso Judith Sephuma. She is working on her new jazz album and will feature Somizi.

He described the experience as something that he is not used to doing:

"Yesterday this friend of mine Judith Sephuma put me out my comfort zone like I've never been put before in my entire career. She asked me to collaborate with her on a song for her upcoming album. Jesu (Jesus) my stomach was in knots all session. She was so patient and caring throughout and coaching me all the way."

Somizi was surprised that Judith picked him to collab with on the album but he is grateful for the opportunity.

"I don't know what u see in me for you to trust me on your project but God bless your heart. Now as I nervously wait for the final product ..." he added.

Judith shared Somizi's excitement and took to social media to thank the Idols SA judge for agreeing to the project.

"Yesterday was so amazing. Somizi came through. Thank you my friend. I love you for years, for days, and all of it. I am surrounded by greatness. All this is God’s grace and mercy. Tomorrow is another amazing friend of mine," she wrote.

Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that Somizi Mhlongo is still under fire for allegedly stealing the idea for his cooking talk show. Announcing that he has a cool give away planned in partnership with DStv and his show, Somizi got questioned on social media.

Taking to social media, Somizi announced that DStv has decided to sue his cooking talk show to do a really cool giveaway. It is a foodies dream prize and super easy to entre too.

“Hey fam....to all my #dinneratsomizis fans I have some gr8 news 4u...I'm helping @DStv giveaway some cool prizes. All u need to do is tweet who u wud like to see as a guest on my show #dinneratsomizis and include #tooeasy to stand a chance to win. I'll announce winners on Sunday.”

In other news, Somizi decided to add his opinion on the recent talks about Master KG and Nomcebo Zikode getting equal attention for the Jerusalema song. According to Somizi, the song belongs to Master KG and he deserves full credit for his work.

The Idols SA judge said that Nomcebo is a credited vocalist on the song and was chosen by Master KG. He went on to explain that it was Master KG who made the beat and therefore it was his song.

Somizi said that if people wanted to fight for vocalists then they should have said something about it before the Jerusalema fame. He made an example of a famous Arthur Mafokate song which featured a vocalist who nobody knows. Somizi also mentioned other house songs that include vocalists who are not credited.
