SASSA branches, contact details and office hours (detailed guide)
The South African Social Security Agency intends to be a leader in providing social security services. To this end, the Agency ensures that eligible children, people with disabilities, the old, and other vulnerable people in the society. For this reason, SASSA branches are strategically located across South Africa. So, how do I contact SASSA? Here you will find all the necessary contacts.
The Social Assistance Act of 2004 outlines the legislative mandate for the South African Social Security Agency. One of the primary objectives of the Agency is to ensure the provision of services such as social grants to the vulnerable and needy. Last year, following the gazettement of the South Africa Post Office as the payment channel for social grants, the social security body introduced new SASSA cards. Initially, beneficiaries had up to September 2018 to register, but following the low uptake of the cards, the South African Social Security Agency extended the deadline more than twice. Most recently, beneficiaries had up to April 30th, 2019 to collect the new cards.
