Katlego Maboe has been removed from The Expresso Morning Show pending an internal investigation. Insurance company Outsurance has also shared that it will remove all advertisements starring Katlego "as soon as practically possible".
This is after a video was leaked on social media on Thursday night, 23 October showing the star seemingly admitting to cheating on his partner.
In a statement, Cardovo Productions confirmed that the award-winning presenter has been suspended from the show. The production company condemned any act of violence and mistreatment, especially against women and children and "take such allegations very seriously".
"Until such time as the matter has been fully investigated, and pending the outcome, Katlego Maboe will not be appearing on The Expresson Morning Show," read the statement.
It has also been reported that Outsurance is also pulling the plug on all its advertisements featuring Katlego.
Outsurance spokesperson Natasha Kawulesar told Channel 24 that they are aware of the allegations against Katlego. She told the publication that they've also engaged with him.
"We will be removing all advertisements featuring Katlego as soon as practically possible," Natasha told the publication.
According to the publication, Katlego's publicist, Fabrizia Degli Esposti, said the allegations made against the star are false. In an Instagram post, the media personality admitted that he was "unfaithful" to his partner but denied abusing her.
