MTV Africa Music Awards: Master KG and 5 Mzansi artists get nods

- Master KG, Kabza De Small, Busiswa and Sho Madjozi all got nods for MTV Africa Music Awards

Master KG, Kabza De Small, Busiswa, and Sho Madjozi, among others, have been nominated for the 2021 MTV Africa Music Awards. The awards will take place on 20 February in Kampala, Uganda.

The Mzansi A-listers will face fierce competition from Nigerian musicians such as Burna Boy, WizKid and Tiwa Savage, among others.

The Jerusalema hitmaker, Kabza and Busiswa have each been nominated for two awards. The 'King of Amapiano' will compete with his fellow countryman, Master KG, and others in the Best Male category. Sho Madjozi and Busiswa will also compete against each other in the Best Female category.

Master KG, who has won multiple awards this year for his smash hit Jerusalema, also faces some stiff competition in the Artist of the Year category. He is up against Nigerian musicians Burna Boy, Davido, Tiwa Savage and Wizkid, among other musos. Blaq Diamond and Kabza De Small & DJ Maphorisa will go up against each other in the Best Group category.

According to IOL, the second round of nominations, including Best Collaboration, Best International, Personality of the Year, Best Alternative Act, Best Fan Base Award and Song of the Year will be revealed from the 5 January, 2021 on MTV Base.

In related news, Briefly.co.za reported that that Trevor Noah has been announced as the host of the 63rd annual Grammy Awards. The Recording Academy took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon, 24 November and revealed that the South African Emmy-award winning comedian will host the prestigious awards on 31 January, 2021.
