Kelly Khumalo has urged her fans to vote for her on the Ukhozi FM Top 10. Her song Empini has been nominated as song of the year and it seems the singer fancies her chances at winning.
Taking to social media, Kelly asked her fans to rally together and cast their votes.
It’s a complete change of tune from her stance regarding the KZN Entertainment Awards where she told her fans to not bother voting for her.
Briefly.co.za reported that Kelly Khumalo was one of the nominees in the KwaZulu-Natal Entertainment Awards. The songstress was nominated in the Best Female Artist category.
Kelly was nominated in the same category with musicians such as her sister Zandie Khumalo, Nomcebo Zikode, Zanda Zakuza, Babes Wodumo and Holly Rey, among others. The winner of the category bagged a trophy and R100 000.
While other artists urged their fans to vote in their numbers, Kelly decided to do the exact opposite. She told a fan on Twitter on Tuesday, 8 December not to waste her money by voting for her.
In similar news, Briefly.co.za reported that Makhadzi is trending on social media after a fan brought up how she was not nominated for the Ukhozi FM Top 10. This caused fierce debate to result among social media users who weighed in with differing opinions.
Twitter user @Hangwela posted: “In South Africa when you're the best you become Enemy no1 of @ukhozi_fm especially when you from venda or Limpopo. MurahuSongOfTheYear” His post triggered responses from both ends of his argument. Twitter user 1nzimande said: “I turn to disagree my friend, @ukhozi_fm had promotions that were aired on the station, for everyone to email their song of the year, I doubt you knew about it, how often do you listen to uKhozi fm?”
Makhadzi recently trended for a more positive reason after her video for Murahu hit 1 million views.
