- South African radio personality Pearl Modiadie has confirmed breaking up with her baby daddy
- The break-up comes just a few months after the couple welcomed a baby boy
- The media personality confirmed the split by posting a short statement on her Instagram stories
It seems the rumours were correct and Pear Modiadie has indeed split from her mystery baby daddy shortly after welcoming their first child.
The media personality posted stories on her Instagram hinting that she was single and much happier. The screenshots were shared by The Citizen.
One of the posts read:
“Alone is much better than being unhappy.”
She went on to say:
“I wasn’t able to achieve my dream of having the family I’ve always longed for. But out of it came my beautiful son and for that I’m eternally grateful.”
Pearl has been very protective of her love life and kept her relationship out of the spotlight. Even her pregnancy was a private affair as she only recently shared a few images of her son Olivier.
Pearl Modiadie has clapped back at online commenters who accused her of being a show-off after she posted about a milestone she recently reached. The radio host turned 33 this week and posted about how she was proud to share that she had managed to pay off the house she purchased for her father.
Many commenters replied to Pearl with messages of congratulations but there were also critics who posted that she was bragging about her achievement. Pearl responded to the criticisms by writing that she works hard for what she has and that she will continue celebrating her wins. She wrote on her Twitter account:
"Ngisebenza kanzima and I will always celebrate my wins!! Whether privately or publicly!"
Pearl's clapback sparked off a larger debate about what constitutes bragging on social media since its very nature is about sharing information with others. Some tweeps responded to Pearl and applauded her for defending her actions whilst others entered into discussions amongst themselves.
