Thandiswa Mazwai has taken to social media to share that the entertainment industry has lost a lot of jobs due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The singer shared that the music industry has cut all jobs due to the ongoing lockdown to curb the spread of the coronavirus in Mzansi. The Bongo Maffin member took to Twitter and commented on a tweet by eNCA that Heineken SA is set to cut jobs due to the pandemic. Thandiswa responded to the post:
"Music industry already cut all jobs. All. Instrumentalists, festival organizers, dress makers, make up artists, sound engineers, lighting engineers, music managers, backing vocalists, roadies... the list continues."
A number of Mzansi entertainers have shared that they are suffering financially amid the government imposed lockdown. Towards the end of December 2020, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the country was moving back to the stricter Level 3 lockdown as Covid-19 infections skyrocketed during the festive season.

Entertainment events and the sale of alcohol are banned during the current Level 3 lockdown. A tweep @my_success21 took to Thandiswa's comment section and wrote:
"And these are the stories that are untold, we are only told about alcohol related stories which I don’t mind, but there are industries that have long shut without any voice."
In other entertainment news, Briefly.co.za reported that legendary Mzansi singer Yvonne Chaka Chaka has been dragged on social media for her views on the Covid-19 vaccine. The songstress took to Twitter on Monday night, 18 January and asked why there's still no vaccine for malaria and HIV.
The Umqombothi hitmaker is of the view that it only took a few months for scientists to develop a vaccine for coronavirus while other deadly diseases such as HIV and malaria have been around for more years than Covid-19.
"Vaccine,Vaccine. We still don’t have one for Malaria non for HIV but in few months we have one for Covid, can someone tell me how possible is this @WHO @EU_Partnerships @UN @NEPAD_Agency @PresidencyZA @Davos @unwomenafrica."
The musician's tweet rubbed many of her followers the wrong way. Most of them dragged her for her opinion on the vaccine while others agreed with her.
