Eva R Lebese is proof that real heroes don't wear capes. She felt terribly sorry for the young children who walked past her house in worn-out shoes.
She felt that she needed to do something for kids in need. Every little bit counts, and she was fortunate enough to buy 16 pairs of shoes.
Now she will be donating the shoes to 16 pairs of feet that desperately need them.
She shared the great news on Facebook in the #ImStaying group:
"#imstaying because this has always been something I wanted to do seeing these learners passing by my home everyday wearing old sneakers, with the help of everyone around me We have managed to buy 16 pairs of school shoes to donate because of my lovely circle #amstaying"
This is what Facebook users had to say about Eve's amazing gesture:
Happy Thulane Maziya:
"Great work sister keep up the great work, may God bless you and the underground gang never turn their backs on you."
Marie Debora Smuts:
"This was so good, with autumn, and winter coming!"
Caroline Lingenfelder:
"It is more blessed to give than to receive. May you all be blessed abundantly. Thank you."
Adrianne Coucourakis:
"What a beautiful thought, now translated into action! Well done."
Gill Walsh:
"Awesome! Your act of kindness is likely to have a ripple effect! Keep going ."
Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that Pam Maxaba Ketsekile could not hold her excitement in after receiving a gift from a kind stranger. Pam explained that on her son's first day at a new school, it was very cold and her little boy did not have a school jersey yet.
As Pam waited by the school gate, another mother approached her to donate school jerseys and winter jackets to her son. Pam stated that the kind lady gave her son two jerseys and two jackets, out of the blue.
She could not believe that a total stranger would go out of her way to do something so sweet to help a mother in need.
In other news, sometimes all we can do is say thank you and just a thank-you is enough. A young South African woman recently headed online so that she could show her gratitude to a woman who bought her mom groceries earlier this year.
According to the heartwarming post, which was made by a young lady with the Twitter handle @PalesaMoila, the generous young woman bought the family groceries from Woolworths in January this year - a tough month for many local families.
