Sjava left the record label Ambitiouz Entertainment to move onto greener pastures and it seems like it is working for him. The BET award-winning artist hasn't had the best year as he had a number of personal affairs interfering with his career.

His passion for music kept him going and he released Umsebenzi, the second project out of his record label, Cartel 1020. His first project was Isambulo, which was complied by upcoming artists that he signed to his record label along with record producer, Ruff.

Sjava released Umsebenzi on 4 December without doing any prior promotional work but it has quickly become one of his most iconic projects.

He took to social media to give thanks for how well his EP is doing. Sjava is celebrating a big win that many artists struggle to achieve as independent artists.

"Siyabonga ngokuhlonipha umsebenzi," he wrote on social media, which means: "Thank you for respecting my work."
