In a Podcast and Chill episode that aired on YouTube on Thursday, 21 August 2025, Sol Phenduka denied rumours that he was suspended because of something he had done at Kaya FM. He shared that he was suspended for seven days pending the outcome of the internal process.

“A lot of people are assuming I did something; I did nothing. Literally. A lot of people think I did something. I didn't come to work, or I did something wrong at work, or I was unprofessional. Yeah, so this happened this morning, and I was surprised because when I left the meeting, they said, 'No, don't say anything, ' which I'm very good at keeping my stuff private. So, I was like, 'OK, that's fine', 'cause I'm suspended for seven days. It's chai," Sol Phenduka said.

Sol Phenduka confirms suspension linked to Minnie Dlamini

Sol Phenduka also confirmed what DJ Fresh had hinted at, that the suspension was linked to Minnie Dlamini.

“So, you know what it's about? It’s about the court case with Minnie. So, it’s an old story, but when the case happened then they came through. So obviously it's gonna be a matter of you bought the station to disrepute,” Sol Phenduka explained.

Regarding his future at Kaya FM, Sol didn't sound optimistic.

“But the writings on the wall. But to me it's quite clear, man, the way this is going, you know, writing on the wall,” he said.

His Podcast and Chill co-hosts, MacG and Ghost Lady, applauded Sol Phenduka for being a professional.
