South African actress Nandi Nyembe previously opened up about her failed marriages before she passed away on Saturday, 23 August 2025.

Nyembe, who died from a long-term illness, previously shared in an interview how ex-husbands cheated on her and why she was scared of love.

Social media user @Constitution_94 shared an old video on his X account on Sunday, 24 August 2025, of the late actress discussing her failed relationships on the King David Podcast.

In the interview, Nyembe reveals that she's been cheated on in her failed marriages and that her former husbands used her as a breadwinner.

"I am very scared of love. It scares me so much. I love very hard and I bring my all," says the late star.

Nyembe also revealed that she still wanted love, and she wanted to get married. She wanted that fuzzy feeling of being in love.

"I want a rich man because both husbands made me their breadwinner," added the actress.

City Press reported in 2020 that Nyembe was physically abused by her ex-husband, known as Bob, for over 15 years, while her second husband was emotionally abusive.

The late star shared with the publication that Bob's behaviour became worse when he started bringing women home.

The veteran actress says she walked away from her first marriage in 1996 and fell in love with another man. She divorced her second husband after her impregnated her friend.

"I had to let him go, I have forgiven him and we are friends now," said Nyembe at the time.
