An alleged dashcam footage showing the moments leading up to the fatal crash that killed Maskandi star Sicebi "Inkosi Yamagcokama" Dlamini has gone viral, with South Africans fiercely debating who was responsible.
The nighttime clip, captured on another vehicle that was hit, shows vehicles moving along a dark road and was shared on X with the Zulu caption "Lala uphumule mfoka Dlamini" — rest in peace, son of Dlamini.
What happened on the night of fatal accident?
Dlamini was travelling to the Basadi Let's Dance Music Festival in Richards Bay on Sunday, 9 August, when the accident occurred. The crash also took the life of his friend and dancer, Gumu Gupta. The footage does not show a direct collision between Sicebi's vehicle and another one; however, it shows two vehicles colliding and eventually hitting the one that was recording. It does, however, capture Dlamini's bakkie visibly losing control. Some fans reckon the vehicle was attempting to avoid clashing with another moving car.

Fans debate who was at fault
The footage ignited a heated discussion about road safety and responsibility at intersections. Some users argued that Dlamini's vehicle was travelling at an excessive speed, even if the traffic light was in his favour. In contrast, others maintained that an oncoming car failed to yield to approaching traffic, making that driver the party in the wrong.
Watch the dashcam footage that sparked the debate below:
@SinhleDo was blunt in his assessment:
"How eckless!😡😡. Even if the robots are green thats speed is too high! Nx😡😡"
The account that shared the footage, @Nduuh_Masondo, agreed:
"Exactly bro that speed ay khona 🙆🙆"
@Siyabongash9 offered a broader reading of what may have happened:
"Polo driver was probably following a friend or something like that, clearly taking cues to turn from the car in front of him, not looking out for other cars. Such a shame; drive slow sometimes nd watch out for drunk people at intersections. Eish 😔"
@GoldenSphex pushed back on those blaming Dlamini's side entirely:
"There are two wrong cars; Scebi had the right of way. We can complain about speed, but these two they were supposed to yield to oncoming traffic."
