Controversial podcaster Nota Baloyi has weighed in on the alarming safety concerns in Kempton Park, following reports of a woman who vanished after heading out for an afternoon run in Rhodesfield. His remarks have stirred conversation online at a time when the area is already under national scrutiny.

On 14 September 2026, Nota took to X to share his thoughts, arguing that jogging in Kempton Park poses a serious risk regardless of gender. He went further, revealing that he personally exercises caution just driving through the area after dark.

"Why would you feel safe enough to jog alone in Kempton Park? Anytime I see men jogging there, I assume they have serious street cred and protection; even driving there at night is something I do cautiously."

The podcaster also directed criticism at what he described as a "FOMO" mentality among members of running clubs, suggesting that the social pressure to participate was overriding common sense about personal safety.

"You have running club fomo and forget you're not jogging in Fourways traffic!"

His comments arrive against the backdrop of deeply troubling developments in the Kempton Park area. Briefly News previously reported that the bodies of five women, all in their 30s, had been discovered in similar circumstances and locations around Kempton Park since July 2026. Elizabeth "Tsontso" Moselakgomo has since been identified as the fourth woman found dead in the area.

SAPS investigates pattern of deaths

The South African Police Service has thus far stopped short of officially confirming whether a serial killer is behind the deaths. However, national spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe acknowledged that the striking similarities across the cases are concerning enough to have triggered a high-level, intensified investigation.
