About the two dramas

Both shows have carved out strong fanbases since launching in mid-2026. eGagasini: Waves of Change premiered in June and was brought in as a replacement for House of Zwide. Starring Meshack Mavuso and The Polygamist star Gugu Gumede, the drama quickly drew in viewers and established itself as a fixture in the primetime conversation.

Land of Mills & Money followed in August, marking a high-profile television comeback for actress Sphelele Luthuli. It was welcomed as a fresh addition to eTV's updated primetime offering and has continued to build momentum among South African audiences.

Both productions have earned significant traction since their debuts, and the timeslot adjustments appear to reflect the broadcaster's effort to optimise its weeknight flow rather than any concerns about viewership.
