A group of Grade 12 learners in Mzansi shared their academic highs and lows, along with practical tips on how they prepare for the most important year of their schooling journey.
Matric students share their marks and study tips
The clip, posted on 25 July 2025 on TikTok by @olefixane, features each Grade 12 learner stating their marks, with one standout being a young girl named Deanne, who scored 99%, and her lowest mark was 98.9%.

Deanne shared her study tips by stating the following:
"No social media, no social life, no boyfriend; you just work with the books. Like, make a friendship with the book, and everything will go good."
Another pupil, named Lesdi, who is the head girl of the school, expressed how her highest mark was 99% and her lowest mark was 70%. She advised people in terms of her study tips to listen in class.
"The more you retain in class, the more you can recall in the exam. So, when you pay attention in class and do your homework, once you start studying, it's just revision, " said the head girl.
Nika received 98% for her highest mark, while 70% was her lowest mark. She shared with her fellow matric pupils to delete all forms of social media and not have any social life for four weeks.
Melody stunned many people after she shared that she walks while studying, reads out loud, and makes mind maps, which resulted in her scoring 93% as her highest mark, while 75% was her lowest.
The host herself also shared her study tip by stating that people should go back to revise old study papers, which helped her achieve 95% as her highest mark, while 77% was her lowest. The clip went viral online.
As the final exam season nears, these candid and motivating posts are helping create a supportive online community of learners working toward the same goal, passing matric and building a successful future.
