Four young cousins have gone missing from their family home in Ntabankulu, Eastern Cape, and authorities are now offering R1 million to anyone with information that leads to their safe rescue.
The children — Sive, Oyintando, Thabsile, and Thabile Siganga — all aged between four and seven years old, disappeared from their family yard under circumstances that remain unexplained. The Eastern Cape Missing Persons and Trafficking Unit confirmed the substantial reward increase as the search intensifies.
Hawks launch kidnapping probe
The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, better known as the Hawks, has taken over the case and is treating the children's disappearance as a kidnapping. The decision to involve the Hawks signals how seriously authorities are treating the matter.

The unit is calling on residents of Ntabankulu and surrounding areas, as well as the broader public, to come forward with any leads, regardless of their size, IOL reported. According to the South African Police Service (SAPS) Missing Persons Bureau data, an average of 1,697 children are reported missing in the country every year. However, the organisation Missing Children South Africa estimates that around 77% of missing children are successfully found.

The four cousins were last seen at their family home before they vanished without a trace. The fact that all four children disappeared together has deepened concern among investigators and the community alike.
