A South African DJ nearly broke the internet with a clip that had fans doing a double take. Meneer Cee, the Afrikaans Amapiano pioneer behind the viral "Afriyanos" sound, posted footage from one of his sets showing a woman dancing energetically near his DJ booth at what looked like an outdoor night event. On-screen text read:
"Doja Cat 🇺🇸 dancing to Afrikaans Amapiano 🇿🇦."
The clip, first shared on 30 September 2025 and reshared on 13 September 2026, spread fast. Comments flooded in from people genuinely unsure whether the woman in the video was the American rap superstar — and others who admitted they were almost completely taken in.
Who is Meneer Cee?
Born Dalmaine Cochrane Jr. in Reiger Park, Boksburg, Meneer Cee is not your average DJ. He works as a full-time school teacher by day and performs high-energy sets by night. He is widely credited with creating the "Afriyanos" subgenre, fusing Afrikaans rap with the log-drum-heavy rhythms of Amapiano.

His breakthrough came in late 2020 when his track Straight Outta Reigerpark / Wie Se Kind Is Die sparked a TikTok dance challenge that racked up over 40 million views. His signature call Sit Die Ding Innie Lug! (meaning "Put the thing in the air!") became a rallying cry on dance floors across the country.
