A 25-year-old man from Bergville in KwaZulu-Natal has left South Africans stunned after building a Bugatti-style replica car entirely by hand, with no formal training to his name.
Content creator Boni Xaba travelled to Woodford, Bergville, on 14 September 2026 to spotlight the young builder as part of her ongoing search for South Africans creating things from scratch. She shared the visit on her Instagram page @liferesetwithboni, where the video quickly gained traction.
Build a Bugatti-style car from scratch
In the clip, Boni speaks directly to the 25-year-old, who confirms his age and his story. The footage shows a close-up of the handcrafted vehicle, which commenters quickly identified as resembling a Bugatti Chiron. The car was built outdoors, in a rural setting near homes, which made the achievement even more striking to viewers.
