A South African-born vet living in the United Kingdom has named the controversial things he misses about home. He goes by The Howzit Guy online and posted his list in a video on Instagram.
He shared the post on 12 July 2026, three years after moving from South Africa to the UK. The content creator works as a veterinary surgeon and often posts comedic lifestyle content online.

The star said he usually gives generic answers like biltong and Ouma rusks. This time, he wanted to share funnier, more controversial things he misses. He mentioned the Cape coloured accent, saying he misses hearing people swear loudly. He also joked about solving any problem with the police with just a two-litre bottle of Coke, something a lot of South Africans know too well.

The vet said South African Tannies have zero self-awareness in public. He used an example of a Tannie yelling at a till lady over snacks. Last on his list was Abigail, the domestic worker who helped raise him. He called her his second mother and said he misses her most.
South Africans living abroad flooded the comments with their own memories of home. Many said they miss petrol attendants who fill up their cars for them.
