Tanius Posey was assigned female at birth but six years ago, he realised he wanted to be male with the help of a transgender co-worker and he soon started medically transitioning.

According to The Post, Posey went to the hospital in 2021 because he didn’t feel well and learned that he was three months pregnant.

His son, Za'nius, was born in early 2022 and now, Posey is proud to be a transgender father.

He ultimately embraced and shared his unique experience on TikTok, where fellow users deemed him a “seahorse dad” since male seahorses carry their babies.

His parenting journey sparked a slew of backlash from nasty commenters, some of whom have said he "doesn't belong on this planet" and others who claimed his son will "die" because he's consuming breastmilk that Tanius produced while taking hormones.

He recently responded to the criticism during an interview with Truly, while encouraging other seahorse dads to "utilise what they've got" without feeling any shame.

"I've got the parts to [breastfeed]. Just because I transitioned does not mean I stripped myself from wanting to give my child nutrients," he said.

Adding that:

'"I've got it, why not utilise what I've got? My child has to eat. I can't sit there and starve him. He's gotta eat and he doesn't take a bottle, so I've got to feed him."

Transgender man angry at medics

Separately, a transgender man who gave birth to a baby via cesarean section lashed out at medics for associating motherhood with women.

The 37-year-old man named Bennett Kaspar-Williams said that after delivery, many people misgendered him, calling him a woman.

"The only thing that made me dysphoric about my pregnancy was the misgendering that happened to me when I was getting medical care for my pregnancy. The business of pregnancy - and yes, I say business, because the entire institution of pregnancy care in America is centred around selling this concept of "motherhood" - is so intertwined with gender that it was hard to escape being misgendered," he said.
