GAUTENG — A mother made a devastating discovery on 2 October 2026 after finding her two 14-year-old twin children stabbed to death inside the family home in Mamelodi West, Pretoria, the same township where two cousins were murdered in 2025.
The woman had been at work when the attack occurred. Upon returning home, she found the bodies of both children in one of the bedrooms, according to a report published by journalist Everson Luhanga on X.

Police launch murder investigation
The South African Police Service has confirmed an investigation is underway into the deaths of the twins. At the time of reporting, no arrests had been made, and no suspect has been identified publicly.
The circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear. It is not yet known whether the family was specifically targeted or whether the twins were home alone at the time of the incident.
