The Glamour Boys marked their long-awaited comeback to continental competition but suffered a 1-0 loss in Angola to Kabuscorp SCP.
Khanye went as far as suggesting that Aden McCarthy and Inácio Miguel are an ill-fitting partnership in the Amakhosi defence.
It was Kaizer Chiefs' first match since reports confirmed that Nasreddine Nabi had parted ways with the Soweto giants and would be returning to Tunisia due to a family emergency.

Khanye blames McCarthy for Chiefs' defeat
Khanye claimed he was disappointed with McCarthy's positioning, stating that he didn’t prioritise his main job of defending but was too focused on playing.
“McCarthy really disappointed me with his positioning,” he told iDiski TV. “When he has the ball, he seems more focused on playing rather than prioritising his main job, which is defending."
The former Kaizer Chiefs star also mentioned his ex-club fielding players who don’t complement each other in their respective positions.

He pointed out that McCarthy and Miguel are not compatible in the heart of Kaizer Chiefs' defence.
“Chiefs are fielding too many players who don’t complement each other. McCarthy and Miguel, for example, don’t work well together at the back. Just look at the goal they conceded — it was poor, very poor.
"McCarthy was caught ball-watching as the ball travelled, unaware of the player behind him, and that led directly to the goal.”
