CAFCC: Bafana Bafana Star Criticised After Kaizer Chiefs’ Loss to Kabuscorp SCP

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye voiced his frustration over Aden McCarthy’s positioning after the Soweto giant's slim defeat in the CAF Confederation Cup against Angola side Kabuscorp SCP.

The Glamour Boys marked their long-awaited comeback to continental competition but suffered a 1-0 loss in Angola to Kabuscorp SCP.

Khanye went as far as suggesting that Aden McCarthy and Inacio Miguel are an ill-fitting partnership in the Amakhosi defence.

“McCarthy really disappointed me with his positioning,” he told iDiski TV. “When he has the ball, he seems more focused on playing rather than prioritising his main job, which is defending.

“Chiefs are fielding too many players who don’t complement each other. McCarthy and Miguel, for example, don’t work well together at the back. Just look at the goal they conceded — it was poor, very poor. McCarthy was caught ball-watching as the ball travelled, unaware of the player behind him, and that led directly to the goal.”
